Girl your hair is Nappy!!!

I can remember been younger and living in a more Caucasian neighborhood and not fully understanding my hair or its texture. Just simply slabbing on a perm in my hair to go to school. My mom never really called my hair nappy but embraced it although I did have a perm in my hair my hair was still very thick and full. It was not until I became more assimilated into the black community that I started hearing the word "Nappy". Why should we simply think ones hair is better than the other because you can easily run a comb through their head. It was not until I entered College that I began seeing women going natural. So many women of all different hair textures and styles I said to myself Wow are we finally pushing away from this word "Nappy". But  I was wrong women still use the word "Nappy" around our society and simply tell their friends just get a perm. Like it is that easy to spend $60 a week to maintain my hair been a College Student I do not think so. I think at my age I am finally at a point where I am happy with my hair. It could be thick, full or what ever you want to call it but it is my hair I can not change that no matter how much perm I put in my hair and extension.

- This has been on my mind for a while
